Write for us
We take original long-form essays on Brisbane and South East Queensland roofs. We do not take thin rewrites, AI slurry, or quote-funnel posts dressed as journalism.
What we publish
Guest pieces should be at least 1,000 words, written in Australian English, and useful to a homeowner standing in a hot driveway after a storm. We want reported detail: suburb and roof type, the failure you actually saw, the product system you used, and the mistake you would not repeat. Read the topic hubs before you pitch so you are not repeating a live essay.
What we will not take
- Service-area pages with a phone number where an argument should be.
- Manufacturer copy with the brand names swapped.
- Syndicated posts already published elsewhere without a substantial rewrite.
- Anything that tells a reader to ignore licensing, heights safety or asbestos rules.
How to pitch
Send a 150-word pitch, a three-sentence bio, and two published clips or job notes to the contact desk. Tell us the hub you think it belongs in, the Queensland evidence you can show, and whether any company is paying you to write it. Paid work is not forbidden. Undisclosed paid work is.
Links, payment and sponsorship
Editorial links are chosen by the desk. If a guest essay includes a paid placement or a promotional outbound link, we mark it with rel="sponsored" so readers and crawlers can tell the difference. Here is how that looks in practice: the desk may, on occasion, accept a labelled placement such as a sponsored note from Worldwide Backlinks. That link is an example of the labelling rule, not an endorsement of a roofing product.
Contributors keep copyright in their work and grant us a non-exclusive licence to publish and archive it. We edit for house style, facts and length. We will not publish a piece that exists only to launder a backlink.
House style, in brief
- Australian spelling: colour, specialised, labour, metre, verandah.
- QBCC, not the old QBSA name, unless you are writing historically.
- Name the roof: concrete tile, terracotta, Colorbond, corrugated iron, slate.
- Credit every image. We only host Creative Commons or public-domain files.
